Join us for an exciting talk that discusses the role of a producer, where creativity meets innovation. We will be hearing from established producers across multiple platforms within Film & TV Production, including documentary, animation and drama.

Joining us will be Garret Daly and Martina McGlynn from Mixed Bag Media, Greg Burrowes and Ronan Cassidy from Carbonated Comet, producer Lena Byrne and David Collins

There will be a brunch networking event as part of this Masterclass

Meet The Panel

Garret Daly

Mixed Bag Media

Garret Daly has over 20 years experience in film and television production. 

His worked has screened on all the major Irish broadcasters and on various international networks. His film and documentary work has gained critical success worldwide.

Martina McGlynn

Mixed Bag Media

Offaly-born Martina is an award-winning filmmaker working alongside husband Garret at their Offaly-based production company, Mixed Bag Media.

The company boasts an impressive catalogue of international film and television projects that have screened and sold around the world.

Greg Burrowes

Carbonated Comet

Greg Burrowes is an award winning filmmaker from Limerick working in collaboration with Ronan Cassidy at
Carbonated Comet Productions. The company’s first Screen Ireland funded film The Vasectomy Doctor won 15 awards worldwide and was nominated for an IFTA.

Since then Greg, has produced several funded dramatic shorts, including Ship of Souls which was put on the long list for the 2023 academy awards and BAFTAs.

Ronan Cassidy

Carbonated Comet

Ronan Cassidy is an award-winning producer from Limerick. He is a two-time IFTA nominee and a Virgin Media Discovery Award nominee.

His most recent productions ‘Quicksand’, directed by and starring Pollyanna McIntosh (Walking Dead, Vikings), and ‘The Life of Lester Wink’, starring Pat Shortt (Volkswagen Joe), premiered at Galway Film Fleadh 2023; and ‘Calf’, the Virgin Media Discovers Short Film Award 2022, premiered at Dublin International Film Festival 2023.

Lena Byrne

Lena Byrne is a children’s television producer with nearly 25 years experience in broadcasting.  In 2020, Lena joined forces with Chris Dicker and John Reynolds to set up Sow Yow Entertainment – a creatively led production company that acts as an original ideas incubator, specialising in Children’s and Family content. She started out as a script editor on the national broadcaster’s soap opera Fair City, before joining JAM Media as Head of the Scripting, where she led the writing team on all productions including Roy and Little Roy for CBBC. She was also Script Producer on Becca’s Bunch for Nickelodeon and Jessy and Nessy for Amazon Studios.

David Collins

Managing Director of Samson Films, David Collins, is an active member of Screen Producers Ireland, the European Film Academy, and ACE Producers. Notable past feature film credits include the Oscar-winning musical ONCE (2006) and EDEN (2007), which won Eileen Walsh the Best Actress award at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2007. His TV credits include BACHELOR’S WALK, PURE MULE, DAN & BECS and most recently the TRUTH COMMISSIONER for BBC. Some of David’s recently produced films include FLOAT LIKE A BUTTERFLY (2018), ROSE PLAYS JULIE (2019), and WILDFIRE (2020). 2022 was a standout year, with Irish-Finnish co-production MY SAILOR, MY LOVE debuting at TIFF and feature documentary THE GHOST OF RICHARD HARRIS premiering at the Venice film festival. Closing out 2023, BALTIMORE, a historical thriller directed by Joe Lawlor and Christine Molloy and starring Imogen Poots, has premiered at the Telluride Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival.
