Our Educational Programme for secondary schools includes Irish, French and German screenings this year, in both Tullamore and Birr.
We will also have a special screening for local Primary Schools, thanks to Access Cinema.
This year’s Mini Movies will also feature short films by Offaly primary schools.

OFFline’s Educational Film Programme presents a selection of subtitled contemporary world cinema which explores themes and issues relatable to a secondary school audience.

This year’s screening for Primary Schools is the magical Matilda.
This film adaptation of a Roald Dahl work tells the story of Matilda Wormwood (Mara Wilson), a gifted girl forced to put up with a crude, distant father (Danny DeVito) and mother (Rhea Perlman). Worse, Agatha Trunchbull (Pam Ferris), the evil principal at Matilda’s school, is a terrifyingly strict bully. However, when Matilda realizes she has the power of telekinesis, she begins to defend her friends from Trunchbull’s wrath and fight back against her unkind parents.

Offaly County Council Arts Office is delighted to present Mini Movies. A series of live-action short films by the students of SN Seosamh, Blueball , Coláiste Naomh Cormac and Geashill NS.
