FilmOffaly and Offaly Local Enterprise Office bring you a day on how to put the best, most memorable pitch forward for your film. A good pitch can be the crucial element in securing funding and seeing your project into fruition.

Our facilitator and presenter for the day is Mary Kate O’Flanagan. Mary is well-known throughout the Irish and international film industry as being an exceptional screenwriter and script doctor. Mary has an MA in Screenwriting, a flair for storytelling and was a mentee of David Howard (University of Southern California). She is regularly invited to give lectures and presentations all over the world.

The essentials of how and when to pitch, including the elevator pitch, loglines and the etiquette of pitching.  


Have you a pitch ready? Do you want to try it out and get some feedback? Mary Kate O’Flanagan together with two leading panel members will listen to your pitch, question you, evaluate it and give you some crucial feedback. Those booking need to come ready to pitch. The pitch will take the form of the filmmaker giving a broad idea of the project in 60 seconds. Then there will be a few minutes to answer questions and finally you will receive feedback. Times will be allocated and those booking will need good internet away from any distractions. Although a mock pitch this will be treated as a real pitching session to give filmmakers an authentic experience.
